"To be aware of little, quiet things, you need to be quiet inside.......A high degree of alertness is required.......
Be still.....Look.....Listen.....Be Present"

Marianne Letizia, R.Y.T. teaches private one on one and group yoga sessions throughout Westchester.    She teaches ALL levels of students:  from true beginners to advanced.  In her classes, she creates a warm and understanding environment, and gears each class toward the specific needs of each individual.  Her specialty is in working with beginners with Gentle Yoga, Chair Yoga, and Prenatal Yoga.  She specializes in working with athletes as well.  She teaches with warmth and compassion as she gently encourages ALL students; both beginners and advanced, into each of the yoga poses.

Her classes focus on how to easily coordinate movement with breath to help quiet and calm the mind, as well as strengthen and stretch the body. In the yoga poses, her direction is geared toward strong alignment.  The breath is infused throughout the class and at the end to create a quiet meditation.

Marianne has been teaching various styles of Hatha yoga for 20 years. Her first 500 hour training was in Bikram Yoga in 2001, her next 500 hour training was in Prenatal Yoga with Colette Crawford in Seattle in 2003.  She then followed that up in 2004 with a 500 hour training in the ISHTA style of yoga, created by Alan Finger in Irvington, NY and NYC.  Most recently, she has received a certificate of completion for the 24 week course in Kinesthetic Anatomy and Biomechanics of Motion, taught by Irene Dowd, of the Julliard School in NYC.

She has also completed study with Jason Brown LMT, and his 108 hour course on Anatomy and Kinesiology for Yoga teachers.

Movement has always been an integral part of Marianne’s life.  As a teenager she competed in acrobatics, gymnastics, and diving for 10 years.  At the age of 12 she was a national champion in Sports Acrobatics as the top of an acrobatic trio.  She graduated from Rutgers University with a B.A. in Biology.  She discovered yoga in 2000 and made the decision to dedicate herself to teaching.

The combination of her gymnastics and science background has given her an intricate sense of movement and anatomy that she really enjoys bringing into her classes.  She taught at Yoga Works Westchester in Irvington, NY for 15 years, and has been teaching private classes throughout Westchester for the past 20 years.

Contact Marianne if you are interested in creating a private yoga class or a group yoga class. Also look at her schedule for her ongoing group yoga classes.
